Charlie's Libertarian Roots

The Red MG Austin Healy convertible in front of the Don Felipe House in about 1972. Charlie inspects the registration sticker. Barbara is encouraging him to persevere.
Jerry, Chuck, Sophie and Charlie visiting the Greek festival in Northridge in about May 1999.
This is an incongruity. Never will you see Chuck fishing or hunting. This is a composite graphic simulating a trip to the outdoors.
Charlie at his mother's funeral in early 2000.
Father and son in a European train station with a mysterious passers-by on the left. That "blur" of a man appears to be Timothy Leary. But I am sure it is not.
Charlie enjoys a pony ride, circa 1951. Note the pose Reagan would evoke years later (1980) stimulating powerful nostalgic mythology of a neglected, self-sacrificing Frontier America, built on tough talk and tough action. Even that swirl of hair is pure Ronnie.
Mother and son go for a walk on Normandy Avenue. By coincidence, Charlie's father was a paratrooper who landed at Normandy, June 6th, 1944. The landing on French soil broke his leg.
Reagan wins the governorship of California, 1968 (?) Here Charlie is celebrating the victory in his High School History class.
